Energy — reinvented
CCEI was established in 2009 as one of the nation’s first Energy Frontier Research Centers — a U.S. Department of Energy initiative. Over 15 years, CCEI led an extensive range of transformative sustainable energy research efforts and realized an impressive slate of scientific breakthroughs in converting inedible biomass into sugars and oils for use in fuels and chemicals.
